Shipper (LTL & Small Parcel)

Essential Functions

Shipping Preparation & Verification

• Ensure all required shipping equipment is available and in proper condition, including shrink wrap, labels, tape, and safety tools.
• Locate completed LTL pallets that have been fully scanned and verified by the packer.
• Verify that pallet information matches shipping paperwork, including customer name and delivery address.

Forklift & Safety Responsibilities

• Inspect forklift equipment before use to ensure safe operation.
• Report any safety or maintenance issues immediately to management.
• Operate forklifts safely in accordance with company policies and training.

Pallet Processing & Documentation

• Weigh completed pallets and shrink wrap them using the pallet wrap machine.
• Record pallet details and weight accurately in the designated computer spreadsheet.
• Stage pallets in the appropriate shipping dock processing area.
• Retrieve paperwork from pallets and deliver it to the Shipping Clerk for processing.
• Match completed paperwork with the correct pallet once released by the Shipping Clerk.
• Apply all required shipping labels, stickers, and documentation to the pallet.
• Secure the Bill of Lading in a shipping sleeve attached to the pallet.

Loading & Carrier Coordination

• Load pallets onto the appropriate carrier’s truck upon arrival.
• Ensure correct carrier selection and proper loading procedures are followed.

Small Parcel Pallet Handling

• Shrink wrap completed small parcel pallets.
• Place wrapped pallets onto the small parcel trailer docked at the designated door.
• Close trailer doors when shipments are complete or when the carrier retrieves the trailer.
• Follow all company policies, safety rules, and quality procedures.
• Maintains a clean and safe work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
