Job Summary
The Quality Auditor is responsible for inspecting, testing and measuring parts at set-up, in-process or receiving.
Essential Functions
- Inspect, test, accept or reject parts in receiving, set-up and in-process as required to meet production needs.
- Document all inspections.
- Write-up non-conforming parts for Material Review Board dispositions as required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform all Quality Auditor functions including performing machine setups, machine runoffs, incoming inspection, Certificates of Conformance and Gauge Calibration.
- Assist or cover for each Quality Auditor position based on the demands of the positions or absences.
- Manage Dispositioning of Non-Conforming material including RMA’s. This may include reworking parts, re-boxing & labeling returned parts, inspecting parts and moving inventory in our ERP system.
- Manage RMA Disposition process by ensuring parts are disposition in a timely manner and all required documentation has been submitted.
- Manage Non-Conformance Database by ensuring parts are disposition in a timely manner and all required documentation has been submitted.
- Ensure Aircraft parts are gauged and documented in a timely manner.
- Run, program and train QA techs on advanced Metrology equipment such as Quick Vision, Science Scope and Coordinate Measuring machines.
- Monitor Quality department demand and deploy resources where needed.
- Approve & Document Setups, initiate Non-Conformances as needed.
- Assist with Dimension layouts of PPAPS and Machine Runoffs.
Qualifications
- Two-year technical degree preferred.
- High level of computer literacy – Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Proficiency in using precision measurement tools and instruments (calipers, gauges and micrometers). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and quality standards such as ISO 9001 or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate findings and collaborate with team members.
Experience
- Experience with machining equipment, tooling, use of various types of gages and other metrology equipment.
Education
- High School Diploma, GED with equivalent experience or associate degree or higher.
