Maintenance Technician
Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for installation of electrical services including the sizing of conduit, wire, fuses and overloads in compliance with NEC, NFPA and OSHA standards. Diagnose and repair equipment with electrical or mechanical problems. Investigate and take necessary action that will reduce problem reoccurrence. Able to troubleshoot problems with machine bearings, cams and gears and make repairs as necessary.
Essential Functions
- Follow lockout/tagout procedures to maintain equipment safely
- Understand the plant electrical distribution to assist in troubleshooting production equipment
- Use forklift to move hazardous waste to storage area or move equipment and materials to new area
- Install equipment & provide electrical, compressed air and water as needed
- Threading/fitting pipes, running conduit, pulling wires
- Use floor scrubber to clean the building aisles
- Inspect hazardous waste storage area as required
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure building systems operate efficiently, or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate
Qualifications
- Basic level of computer literacy
Experience
- 2 Years Electrical Experience
Education
- High school, GED, or equivalent diploma
